Take a closer look at the predictions for the House and Senate seats in the 2010 mid-term elections. This election will be a direct reflection of the public's opinion of the Obama Administration. If the Democrat candidates retain or win seats, then the voters will be rewarded Obama for the job he is doing. If the Republican candidates win seats, then the voters will be voicing their dissatisfaction of the Administration.
That is why President Bush claimed he received a "mandate" from the voters in 2002 when Republicans gained seats. President Bush had to adjust his War in Iraq strategy in 2006 (he fired Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld two days after the 2006 mid-term election) when the voters replaced House and Senate Republicans.
